We are now recruiting for a new Factory Caretaker to join our friendly and ever growing Facilities Team. The successful candidate will be taking ownership for maintaining housing keeping standard and appearance of all areas inside and outside of the premises.
The candidate will also be expected to undertake the following tasks:
- Undertake scheduled and allocated BMR (Building Maintenance Request) via our Jira ticketing system and communicate outcome to the internal customer
- Ensure accurate recording of tasks in line with cleaning schedule matrix
- Clean warehouse/production/mezzanine floors in all units
- Ensure the cleanliness of production areas such as production offices, lab area, workshops
- Keep all gangways and fire exits clean and clear from obstructions
- Clean and tidy the area in the front and the rear of the factory, including the waste bin area, designated smoking area and extractor fans at the rear of the factory
- Ensure that all external waste and debris is collected up and disposed of appropriately including the collections of scrap pallets for disposal
- Maintain the car park and outside areas of all units, including the cycle sheds, ensuring they remain in a safe, clean and tidy state.
- Monitor and empty recycling sacks/bins in office and warehouses for correct waste segregation.
- Responsibility for maintaining the general housing keeping in the rest areas including the daily monitoring of refreshments in main canteen and keeping containers for refreshments clean and hygiene

- Previous experience of a factory or warehouse based environment
- Ability to use basic tools
- Basic knowledge of Health & Safety procedures
- Ability to work under own initiative with limited direct supervision
- Ability to demonstrable pride in their work
- A flexible approach and an enthusiastic and positive attitude
- Good verbal and written communication
- Demonstrable team player willing to work towards shared goals
- Ability to learn quickly and take on new tasks.
